BIFIDO

Bifido was born in the southern Italy between a volcano and the sea. Literature was Bifidos first love, and when he pretended to enroll in university, he did it for the literature. He still cherishes letters (especially C and Z), but he feels more at ease with images. From that moment on, he knew he would use photography to express his poetry. In truth, the technical aspects of photography didn't truly captivate him until he started printing and using his portraits on the streets. From this perspective, his relationship with photography has been in constant metamorphosis. Street photography, like all art in public spaces, disrupts people's lives, an interruption that challenges their daily perspective.

Bifido explains it like this:

“It matters little what people think when they encounter my work on the streets; what matters is that the subject they face imposes itself as a question. What I do is a necessity. Growing up is inevitable, but forsaking playfulness is a fate I refuse to accept, and art is my way of persisting. Creating art in the streets is my way of playing, with life and the world, its beliefs, and conventions. What I do has a childlike quality; it's animated by a playful instinct that exists in the world like a sandcastle builder by the sea: he creates, the sea erases, he creates anew”.
